“Failing to prioritize Bombshell’s capture?” Oh come on, she got tripped by Sunstorm, who—cerebro-shelled or not—she thought wouldn’t have been a threat anymore after losing his legs. Had she managed to drop her swords and unstrap one of those guns from her back—while being attacked by Sunstorm, mind you—it would have mattered very little. Bombshell was already long gone after she got tripped. And if you’re saying “she could have blasted Bombshell from the bushes earlier!”, she and Prowl would have seen no point to that. As far as they knew, Bombshell’s I/D chip was still working and they could have blown his head off with the press of a button. This was right on the previous page. You might as well blame Prowl too. This “fuckery” seems to be nothing more than “why did these characters not see into the future and do everything perfectly?”Not sure if stupid or continuity error.

But Astrotrain was captured alongside Shockwave and Soundwave, along with everyone else that there was there. Prowl told Arcee to take “the others” alongside both ‘waves, and Starscream even outright said Laserbeak was one of those taken. So it seems pretty clear Astrotrain was taken prisoner as well and is alive.
